Below you'll find an explanation for the different statuses available on the e-Tracker of bpost.


Possible statusses of your parcel

Status clarification

Place where your item is located

This indicates where your item is in the bpost network. This status appears if your item could not be delivered. It can be picked up at the indicated post office or PostPoint.

Parcel information registered electronically

bpost acknowledges receipt of the details of your item. These details are provided by e-Shipper or by your own system (LCI). This status does not mean that the item has physically entered the bpost network.

Pickup on request registered electronically

bpost acknowledges receipt of your pick-up order. Your item will be picked up on the date chosen by you.

Item information registered manually

Your item has been scanned in the bpost network. This means it is in our possession and should normally be delivered on the next business day.

Additional service added to your parcels

The options selected by you have been registered and will be applied.

Your item has been sorted

Your item has been sorted by bpost in one of the national sorting centres.

Internal transfer of the item

The item has been transferred from one to another service within the bpost network.

Item in delivery phase

Your item has been taken by the postman for delivery.

Item delivered by bpost

Your item has been delivered to the addressee.

Item delivered in SelfBank

When a parcel is delivered with signature required, a second message "Parcel delivered" is sent to you when the signature is being scanned in our offices.

Item delivered at your Pick-up & Go point

Your item is available for pick-up at the bpost Pick-up & Go point chosen by you.

Item presented – addressee absent – message left

Your item was presented at the mentioned address, but could not be delivered. Our driver left a note. With this note, the addressee can either ask for a second presentation, pick up the item at the post office or PostPoint indicated on this note, or have someone else pick up the item.

Delivery impossible due to prohibited contents – item returned to sender

Your item could not be delivered because its contents are prohibited. The item will therefore be returned to the sender.

Delivery impossible due to incorrect address – item returned to sender

Your item could not be delivered because the mentioned address is wrong. The item will be returned to the sender.

Delivery impossible due to unknown addressee – item returned to sender

Your item could not be delivered because the addressee is unknown at the indicated address. The item will therefore be returned to the sender.

Delivery impossible due to incomplete address – item returned to sender

Your item could not be delivered because the mentioned address is incomplete. The item will therefore be returned to the sender.

Delivery impossible due to unknown addressee

Your item could not be delivered because the addressee is unknown at the indicated address.

Item not collected by addressee – item returned to sender

Your item was kept for pick-up for 15 days (8 days for court summons), but was not picked up. It will therefore be returned to the sender.

Item returned to sender

Your item has been returned to the sender.

Addressee absent – uncertainty about the address - item returned to sender

Your item could not be delivered because the addressee was not present at the destination address. There is a lot of uncertainty about the addressee’s address. The item will therefore be returned to the sender.

Item refused by addressee – item returned to sender

Your item could not be delivered because the addressee refused it. The item will therefore be returned to the sender.

Delivery delayed

The delivery of your item has been delayed.

Delivery delayed due to change of address

The delivery of your item has been delayed because the addressee has moved.

Delivery delayed – item will be presented again on request of the addressee

Your item was presented at the address, but could not be delivered. The addressee has requested a second presentation.

Delivery delayed – company closed

The delivery of your item has been delayed because the company was closed.

Item will be presented again

Your item was presented at the address, but could not be delivered. It will be presented again.
