What is Mail Ahead?

Mail Ahead in the My bpost app allows you to see your incoming mail, even before the mail carrier drops it in the letterbox. You will see an image of the outside of your personal mail that you will receive in your letterbox that day.This newly launched feature is in its beta version and not yet available to everyone. Our beta tester community is growing, and you may become part of it soon. Alternatively, you can access it once it’s fully launched.

How can I change the address for Mail Ahead?

In this beta version of Mail Ahead, only your official address from your itsme® account can be used. This feature will evolve thanks to our beta testers feedback, and we’re currently exploring technical options to allow you to have multiple addresses.

How can I activate or deactivate Mail Ahead in the My bpost app?

The new Mail Ahead feature in the My bpost app is currently a beta version. During the testing phase, we limit the number of users to a selection of beta testers.How do I know if I can activate Mail Ahead (beta)?If you’ve received an e-mail or see the ‘Mail Ahead’ tab in the ‘More’ menu of the My bpost app, you can activate and test this feature. Simply verify your identity and address with itsme®. More options to verify your ID will soon be available.How do I deactivate Mail Ahead (beta)?You can deactivate Mail Ahead in the 'More' menu, in ‘Mail Ahead’ tab. If the switch button is red, Mail Ahead is activated. To deactivate this feature, simply turn off the button. When the button is grey, Mail Ahead is deactivated.

Why can I see mail with Mail Ahead that still is not in my letterbox?

Mail Ahead shows you all your mail that is processed with our sorting machines at night. The route that your mail travels from the sorting and distribution centres to your letterbox can take a bit longer sometimes. In that case, you will receive the mail that you can already see in the app on the next postal delivery.If you don’t see your mail in your letterbox by the end of the day, you can “Report an issue” on this mail item preview in the app or write us using this online form. We’ll investigate and work on preventing this in the future.

To ensure Mail Ahead (beta) works properly, it is important that your name and address are correct. If your name or address in the My bpost app differs from the one in itsme®, you won't be able to activate this feature. You can resolve this in two ways:Update your address in itsme®If your address in itsme® is incorrect, you can update it by editing your account on the itsme® website.Update your address in the My bpost appIf your name and/or address is correct in itsme® but differs in the My bpost app, you can adjust your name and/or address in your profile in the My bpost app.

Through Mail Ahead, we aim to give you the fullest possible overview of mail on its way to you. During this test phase, the app shows only mail processed through our sorting machines, with your privacy fully respected.
